Our Story
The Background
Healthy Women Association, based in Vancouver, is a non-profit dedicated to empowering women and youth, particularly immigrant communities in Canada. Our mission focuses on enhancing language skills, societal integration, self-development, and employment opportunities. Through a comprehensive range of programs including education, community support, cultural orientation, women's rights education, financial literacy, talent cultivation, and employment assistance, we provide holistic support. Additionally, we prioritize guiding youth to find purpose, develop skills, pursue education, and avoid negative influences like substance abuse. Together, we strive to create a supportive and respectful environment for all members, believing in making a meaningful difference.

Founder
Providence Nyirasoni
Inspired by my personal journey as an immigrant leaving Quebec to settle in BC, and witnessing the challenges faced by immigrant women, I felt compelled to create a framework that not only enhances our understanding and exercise of rights but also serves as a means for us to contribute meaningfully to British Columbian society. Additionally, observing the impact on the children of these immigrant women, often thrust into lives of uncertainty and potential failure, further motivated me to take action.
Our Vision
Dedicated to Empowering Women
We are dedicated to empowering immigrant women and youth to flourish in Canada through comprehensive support, including language skills enhancement, mentorship, counseling, seamless integration into Canadian society, and access to employment opportunities. Additionally, we prioritize fostering financial literacy to promote independence and a strong sense of belonging.
